BOMB OUT
PUBLICATION DESIGN, TYPOGRAPHY, AND PRINT
BOMB OUT is a fictional magazine about the intense environment of powerlifting. Within this community they share many successes through the amount of weight people can hold without bombing out (quitting). The purpose behind this publication is to reveal the success storys but also their struggles and how powerlifting is a process of trial and error.

PROCESS: GRID SYSTEM
For the format for the publication, I created a system to follow when formatting my pages. Therefore, I followed a grid system of 5 columns and 5 rows to exemplify asymmetry. In relation to the page size, I went with A4 paper size because it is commonly used in Greece where powerlifting originated from.
PROCESS: SETTING THE PAGE
Within the article, there were two sections the feature and interview article. For each, I wanted to create a page that gave a spotlight to the important aspects talked about in that particular section.
FINAL PRODUCT
In the final content of this publication, I established rules for both the feature and interview articles to give them a unique quality. The feature followed rules pertaining to being a record-breaker hence the use of figure-ground reversal of letterforms. In the interview article, the use of repetition and rhythm is present to give the idea of a routine. In addition to this, there are also global rules seen throughout the issue to bring all components together.
